This is the management of established trees in close confinement within urban environments. This can involve the selective thinning of trees by way of felling to allow the remainder usually the more dominant species to grow more naturally and allow more light to penetrate to the undergrowth, so that bulbs, small shrubs, grass etc can grow with the minimum of restrictions.
Once we have examined your tree/s, by way of a soil analysis if needed, and visual inspections, we correlate the data and create a detailed tree report stating the trees condition and our recommendations. These reports may be requested by mortgage companies or structural engineers profiling properties built on London clay.
Where large commercial or residential sites are concerned, we provide detailed mapping and labelling of the tree layout so that trees can be maintained on a regular basis as they mature.
Urban planting is the planting of appropriate tree specimens and large shrubs in relation to buildings allowing enough space for the trees to grow without hindrance.
We ensure as far as possible that there will be no undermining of building foundations power line etc by being quite selective over the trees planted and their location, so that they can grow naturally and safely with a good crown balance and hopefully with the minimal of works required as the trees grow and mature.
Urban surgery is the light pruning, Pollarding or section felling of trees that grow too close to buildings or other obstacles. This type of tree surgery is done for a wide variety of reasons, from thinning and reducing branch crowns to allow more light into small gardens, through to the complete removal of trees that are dangerous or too close to power lines or generally presents an unexceptible risk to the public or property.
